My Story
After 6 years training to be an Architect I decided to take a short break from Architecture and joined the BBC as a Set Designer. This short break soon stretched to more than 30 years, during which time I have worked in a variety of areas of the entertainment industry; directing live action, light entertainment and documentaries, animating comedy sketches and title sequences, and even dabbling in theatre. In 1997 I decided to focus on my animation career. Since then I have produced several short films, including “Wrong Turn” for channel 4, and “How the Sea Was Salt”, which won best animation at the Scottish BAFTA New Talent awards in 2000.
In 2002 I was awarded a NESTA Fellowship from The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, which enabled me to develop my directing and storytelling skills, and produce Roux County: a 15-minute fairytale set in the Deep South.
Specialties: Directing, writing, editing, illustration, computer animation, compositing, story boarding, set design, construction, welding..
